Yesterday we took a trip to the Lambs Farm. This is a staple of "Chicago" in that it has been there forever and gets a really strong number of visitors. They lots of animals to view, a petting zoo, train ride, carousel, restaurants and shops. The girls really enjoyed walking around and seeing all the animals and had a blast with their friends.
E&E were not so keen on the petting zoo, as I think the goats, sheep and other animals scared the heck out of them. Every time a goat would come by them they would make a B-line over to me to hold on tight.
We also took the train ride which was fun. It is a rickety old train - just what you would expect. Erin had no interest in going on the train - okay, she did NOT want to go on the train. But, being the good mom I am, I brought her on the train and she was not too traumatized by it. She sat on my lap while Ev sat next to me. Unfortunately Ev was having some of her independent moments and wanted nothing to do with me. Normally I would think that is great and enjoy a moment off, but keep in mind, it is a rickety old train without seat belts and I had to hold on to her or was afraid she might fall off!! This really got her goat!!
The kiddies also had a picnic lunch, which was adorable!!
All in all we had a really fun time. Today, we're off to the pool.........
